Stocking hats for little ones in Honduras

 Directions…

 Knit:  Use acrylic, 3 ply sport yarn (or 2 ply baby yarn) and size 8 knitting needles. 

             Cast on 52 stitches. Knit 2, pearl 2 until it measures 7 or 7 1/2 inches,

             Cast off stitches and sew up the side.  Gather at the top.  Pom poms are optional

Crochet:  Use acrylic, 3-ply sport yarn (or 2 ply baby yarn) and size H hook. 

      Chain 28.  Single crochet in 2nd stitch from hook and in each stitch across chain. 

      Chain 1 to turn and single crochet in 2nd stitch.  Always crochet in back loop, which creates a ridge.  Crochet a strip about 10 inches
      long.  Sew up the side and gather the top.  Pom poms are optional.
