Please do not donate items with any religious symbols, messages or with your congregation’s name. LWR provides Quilts and Kits based on need, regardless of religious creed. Religious references may be misinterpreted by the governments of the receiving countries, jeopardizing the delivery to the people who need the items most. Please do not donate any items decorated with a U.S. flag, patriotic or military symbols, or references to the armed forces, including camouflage. LWR and our overseas partners have access to areas of the world others do not because we are impartial humanitarian organizations. Keep in mind our "Piece Corps" quilting needs material and sheets. Check at garage sales. Check out the poster in the fellowship hall showing where our LWR quilts go. February 2011 February 27th is BOLD Women's Day on the WELCA calendar. This is what a BOLD Women Does: Prays for others January 2011 Women of The ELCA Mission Statement
Sometimes we get so busy we do not stop and listen to God. In mission growth we need to be persistent in prayer, the relationship between prayer and waiting and the power of prayer to change us. Community: to enable each woman to value herself and others as created in God's image and redeemed through Christ; and to build up and celebrate relationships that are global, diverse, and interdependent. A new way to help our community mission might be to pick a "Prayer Partner." Pick a friend and remember her in prayer everyday, develop a relationship and support her in any way you can. Action: to enable women to articulate and act upon their faith as disciples of Christ in all As we make quilts, school kits, health kits and become involved in our community with Quilting - "Piece Corps" is on Wednesday, February 16th from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. CLCW will be on February 17th at 1:00 p.m. - Our hostess' are Marilyn Hoveland and Gerry Montreuil.
Thank you to all who have decorated, served, treated and in any way contributed to our Church Family Holidays.
