Date and location to be determined!

November Event:  Soup Mix Jars

On Sunday, November 10th families will work together to assemble a soup mix jar to bring home for themselves, and one to share with the food shelf.

December Event:  Family Advent Festival

On Sunday, December 8th we will make Christmas ornaments and decorations!  Make your way from table to table, choosing the crafts you would like to make and bring home.

Ministry Mission:  enable families to carry out their baptismal promises.

All Aboard the Ark is a ministry at Calvary Lutheran Church dedicated to helping families with young children develop faith traditions in the home and relationships with other families so that parents and children can grow in faith.

Our ministry consists of the following activities:

  • Small group ministry through Bible Study and prayer groups
  • Baptismal Coaching/Faith Chests
  • Quarterly fellowship events
  • Sunday morning “playdates” and fellowship in the nursery
  • Coffeehouse-style worship at 10:45 on Sunday mornings
  • Mission Project

Small Groups:  Growing together

Small groups meet monthly to share and pray together about parenting issues in a supportive and caring environment.

·        Mom’s Parenting Bible Study meets the third or fourth Monday of the month at 7 pm in the church library.

·        If you would like to be baptized or have a child baptized, contact Pastor Dean (679-1706) and he will schedule a time to meet with you.

Fellowship Events:  Sharing together

Several times a year young families come together for fun and faith building activities.  These may include a trip to the pumpkin patch, a cookout at the park, or game night at church.  Events will be published in the church newsletter, so stay tuned!

Parents with children too young for Sunday School (birth to age 2) are invited to a casual “playdate” and fellowship at 9:45 in the nursery.  Kids can play while parents have a cup of coffee and visit with one another.

Each summer families camp together at a state park or attend family camp at Camp Onomia in Onamia, MN.  Information will be posted on the bulletin board and included in the church newsletter.

Family Services:  Worshiping  together

Calvary has two worship services on Sunday mornings:  a traditional 8:30 service held in the sactuary and a 10:45  coffeehouse-style service held in the fellowship hall.  Join us for either one, whichever makes the most sense for your family!

Several times throughout the year special services are offered that cater especially to young families.  Our early Christmas Eve service is one, and others are scattered throughout the year.  Check the church newsletter for service times and dates.

Mission Project:  Giving together

The youth and family ministry at Calvary sponsors Josue, a child from Nicaragua, through Compassion, an international service organization.

We do this because the faith we model for our children needs to be one of giving, sharing, and having compassion for one another.

You can sign up to help support Josue on the bulletin board by the Wood Street doors, or by contacting Susan Williams at 679-1706.

Sponsorship is $38 for a whole month, or $19 for a half month.  Checks can be made payable to Calvary Youth.
